Project Brief
Art direct, design, and execute layout for all things Flagbearer Games. This includes the Nations & Cannons Core Rule Book, American Crisis sourcebook, the Misfire Card Deck, enamel pins, additional collateral, creating templates, and more. In addition, I create our video content, social assets as needed, built the website, and created templates for marketing emails.

Logomark and initial color palette by Giancarlo Montalbano.
From this point, I developed our extended palette, collaborated with Lead Game Designer and Founder of Flagbearer Games Pat Mooney to choose the font families for each aspect of the book and accompanying assets, and built the website and other collateral including video.
Core Rules Book
The American Crisis // Kickstarter
In April 2023, we launched our very first Kickstarter in order to fund a full sourcebook and campaign guide that will take players through the full Revolutionary War. Our Kickstarter was awarded the “Project We Love” badge and was fully funded within the first three days, exceeding the original goal by over $100,000.
I created all mockups, gifs, graphic templates, banners, and promo video for the launch.
Working with Collyn Messier and Pat Mooney, we put together a Kickstarter with multiple sections breaking down each offering. Animations displaying book content and banners are sprinkled throughout.
Misfire Card Deck
The Misfire Deck adds dynamic and unpredictable critical fumbles to the core Nations & Cannons game. The deck comes with 55 cards (24 Small Arms, 16 Artillery, 14 Grenade, and 1 key card) and includes a free PDF with the extended firearms rules.
The PDF includes full 5e-compatible rules for firearms, grenades, artillery, and wargear from the Nations & Cannons campaign setting, making this the most comprehensive black powder ruleset available.
Art assistants Julia Shine and Samantha Zak created the art for card backs/art for accompanying PDF and custom icons/color corrected maps respectively.
